My neighbors listen to this all day. If they want or not.

I understand they're trying to avoid people getting mad at them like they did last time but the number of plot turns and obvious spoilers in this 90-second trailer is baffling. Angels dark and light download. Still fire every time I listen🔥. Dark Light Studio album by HIM Released 26 September 2005 Recorded Spring 2005 Studio The Paramour Estate in Los Angeles, California Length 45: 30 Label Sire Producer Tim Palmer HIM chronology And Love Said No: The Greatest Hits 1997–2004 (2004) Dark Light (2005) Uneasy Listening Vol. 1 (2006) Singles from Dark Light " Wings of a Butterfly " Released: September 2005 "Vampire Heart" Released: November 2005 " Killing Loneliness " Released: February 2006 "Under the Rose" Released: 2006 Dark Light is the fifth studio album by Finnish gothic rock band HIM. Released on 26 September 2005, HIM began recording the album in March 2005 at the Paramour Estate is Los Angeles, California, with producer Tim Palmer, who had also mixed the band's previous album Love Metal. Dark Light also served as HIM's first worldwide release with Sire Records, with whom the band had signed with in September 2004. In Finland, however, the album was released under the band's own label Heartagram. Musically, Dark Light featured a more "polished" and "accessible" sound than previous albums, and was written as a cross between Black Sabbath and U2, also influenced by the work of composer Angelo Badalamenti. Dark Light received mostly positive reviews from critics, with many praising the writing and the band's performance, while some criticism was given to the second half of the album. Dark Light charted in fifteen countries, reaching number one in Finland, later going platinum, as well as gold in Germany, the UK and the US, making HIM the first Finnish artists to receive a gold record in the United States. Three singles were also released, with " Wings of a Butterfly " peaking at number one in Finland, and " Killing Loneliness " at number two. "Wings of a Butterfly" later received the award for "Song of the Year" at the 2005 Emma Awards, and was awarded at the 2007 BMI Pop Awards as well. During the album's world tour, HIM made their live debut in various countries, including Japan and Australia. Production In August 2003, HIM separated from BMG, after fulfilling their contractual obligations to the label. [1] In September 2004, HIM announced that they had signed a new recording contract with Sire Records, who would handle the band's future releases in Europe, the United States, Japan and Australia. [2] In their native Finland, however, HIM's recordings would be released through the band's own Heartagram label. [2] In March 2005, HIM relocated to Los Angeles, California, to start work on their fifth studio album at The Paramour Estate, with producer Tim Palmer, who had previously mixed the band's fourth album Love Metal. [3] After two days of rehearsals, the band began recording drums, which were done in two days. [3] [4] This was followed by the bass, and then guitars and keyboards. [4] The band were faced with multiple distractions during the recording process, including dogs around the estate, as well as a Playboy video shoot. [3] Because of this, the studio equipment was moved upstairs for Ville Valo to record his vocals, while the other members of the band flew to Las Vegas with professional skateboarder and friend of the band Bam Margera. [3] In May 2005, HIM recruited Andy Wallace to mix the album; however, he was fired only a week later. [5] [6] [7] According to Valo, Wallace lost the "melancholia" in his mixes, explaining: "It sounded fucking good, but it sounded like radio-friendly American rock [... ] and we're not that. " [7] Thus, producer Tim Palmer was tasked with mixing the album at Electric Lady Studios in New York, after which the album was mastered by Stephen Marcussen at Sterling Sound. [7] [8] Originally planned as In the Nightside of Eden, the album's title was changed to Dark Light, because the band felt that the latter would be a more memorable title, seeing as how this would be HIM's first album to be officially released in Japan, Australia and North America. [7] The title Dark Light was inspired by a book of the same name by Mette Newth, and was also thought up as a play on words; Ville Valo's last name translates to "light", and "dark light" in Finnish would be "pimeä valo", which in turn would mean that Ville Valo was "mad". [9] Dark Light also continues the band's tradition of "contradictions in [album] titles". [10] [11] The cover art of Dark Light was designed by Matt Taylor and Sonny Gerasimowicz. [8] Music and lyrics According to Valo, the band entered the studio with the idea of creating a cross between Black Sabbath 's Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Achtung Baby by U2, and Dark Light has been described as more "polished" and "accessible" than HIM's previous albums. [7] [13] [14] The first half of the record was written long before entering the studio, while the second half was composed a month and a half prior, after Valo threw away much of the original material, because "it was too slow". [15] According to Valo, the band's approach on Dark Light was to make the songs sound more "cinematic, epic, and close to the listeners", inspired by the works of composer Angelo Badalamenti. [16] Valo also mentioned This Mortal Coil as an influence on the album's "spooky, eerie" sound. [17] Lyrically, Dark Light deals mostly with themes of "girls and boys and the politics of the heart". [11] "Vampire Heart" opens with a riff reminiscent of the theme to the 1978 film Halloween, while " Rip Out the Wings of a Butterfly " was described by Valo as a "link between ' She Sells Sanctuary ' by The Cult and ' Billie Jean ' by Michael Jackson ". [10] [12] The lyrics were inspired by a legend of immortal souls possessing the wings of a butterfly, and talks about: "Whether you are willing enough to destroy something beautiful to gain yourself some power. " [10] According to Valo, the song was chosen as the first single from Dark Light, because it was "the perfect song to describe what's going to happen on the entire album", containing all the signature elements of the band's sound as well. [18] [19] " Killing Loneliness " was partly inspired by professional skateboarder Brandon Novak and his heroin addiction, and talks about the various ways people "kill their loneliness, and with what", while "Behind the Crimson Door" features Valo humming a poem by Finnish author Timo K. Mukka. [9] [20] Valo described "The Face of God" as " Achtung -era U2, with Queens of the Stone Age meeting the Satanic Bee Gees ", and "In the Nightside of Eden" as the " prog rock " song of the album, which also makes mention of the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. [12] The band's cover of " Poison Heart " by the Ramones features claps by Sire Records' co-founder Seymour Stein and A&R executive Michael Goldstone. [9] Release and promotion HIM performing in Milan in September 2005 " Rip Out the Wings of a Butterfly " (under the title "Wings of a Butterfly") was released as the first single from Dark Light in September 2005, charting in ten countries, including at number one in Finland, [21] number ten in Germany and the UK, [22] [23] and at number 19 on the US Alternative Chart. [24] A music video was also produced for the song. [25] That same month, HIM embarked on European club tour to prepare for the release Dark Light. [5] The album was released on 26 September 2005, and charted in sixteen countries, including at number one in Finland and Greece, [21] [26] number four in Germany and Austria, [22] [27] and number 18 in the UK and US. [23] [24] The album would eventually be certified platinum in Finland, [28] and gold in Germany, the UK, and the US, making HIM the first Finnish artist to receive a gold record in the United States. [29] [30] [31] The North American leg of the album's supporting tour for began in Portland, Oregon, on 5 October 2005, and continued until the end of November, with Skindred and Flinch serving as supporting acts. [32] In November 2005, "Vampire Heart" was released as a promotional singles from Dark Light. [33] For the 2005 edition of the band's annual New Year's Eve shows, the event was expanded into a festival and renamed Helldone. [34] The band were scheduled to begin a tour of the UK and Ireland in January 2006, but were forced to postpone it until February, after guitarist Mikko "Linde" Lindström fractured his wrist after Helldone. [35] At the 2005 Emma Awards, HIM went on to win "Rock Album of the Year", and "Song of the Year" for "Wings of a Butterfly". [36] On 9 February 2006, HIM began a joint seven-date tour with The Rasmus and Negative across Central Europe, after which HIM continued through Southern Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. [35] [37] Also in February 2006, " Killing Loneliness " was released as a single, charting in five countries, peaking at number two in Finland. [21] Two music videos were produced for the song, the latter of which featured a guest appearance by tattoo artist Kat Von D. [38] [39] From May to June 2006, HIM toured the US with Aiden acting as support. [40] In August 2006, HIM were nominated by Kerrang! for "Best Band on the Planet". [41] In September 2006, HIM cancelled a forthcoming North American tour, in order to begin work on a new album. [42] "Under the Rose" was also released as the final promotional single from Dark Light in 2006. [43] In October 2007, Ville Valo was awarded at the BMI Pop Award for "Wings of a Butterfly". [44] Reception Professional ratings Aggregate scores Source Rating Metacritic 52/100 [13] Review scores Source Rating Rumba [45] Rock Hard 8. 5/10 [46] 8+/10 [47] musicOMH Positive [48] Soundi [49] Helsingin Sanomat Positive [50] Allmusic [14] Drowned in Sound 5/10 [51] Dark Light received mostly mixed to positive reviews from critics, with an average score of 52 out of 100 on Metacritic, based on 10 reviews. [13] The New York Times described the material as "sturdier than ever", while Q called the album a "collection of irresistible pop-rock anthems". [13] Chris Ingold of musicOMH touted Dark Light as HIM's "most accessible album to date", containing "the powerful sense of identity and cohesion that has allowed the band to shamelessly rip-off all manner of classic rock moments yet always sound like themselves. " [48] Rumba' s Tapio Ahola gave the album five out of five stars, praising it as fulfilling the potential of the band, as well as featuring material "with more depth" than some of the group's other work. [45] Conny Schiffbauer of Rock Hard, who gave the album eight-point-five out of ten, called Dark Light a "successful album", giving praise to both the vocals and instrumentation, and likening the album to The Cult, Black Sabbath and U2. [46] Turkka Holmqvist of gave the album eight-plus out of ten, and called it "fresh" and a "positive surprise". [47] He did, however, comment on only half the album being up to par, but concluded that the album "takes the band back to the times when they were good on their own terms". [47] Vesa Sirén of Soundi described Valo's melodies as sounding even more like traditional Finnish schlager than before, and commended the arrangements as "precise" and "nuanced". [49] Sirén also felt that the second half of the album did not live up to the first, but still awarded Dark Light four stars out of five. [49] Tero Valkonen of Helsingin Sanomat was positive in his review, singling out "Wings of a Butterfly" and "In the Nightside of Eden" as particular highlights, but did still criticize the album for following the same formula as the band's previous efforts. [50] Allmusic awarded the album three-and-a-half stars out of five, and described it as "glossy and user-friendly". [14] Raziq Rauf of Drowned in Sound gave the album five out of ten, and called the album "unremarkable" yet "solid". [51] He praised Valo's performance, but criticized the material backing him as "dull" and "turgid backwash". [51] NME also described Dark Light as "wimpy", giving the album 40 out of 100. [13] Spin gave the album 25 out 100, and stated that Dark Light "gives new meaning to the phrase virgin sacrifice", while Stylus Magazine felt that "there’s nothing to get excited or exhilarated over" on the album, also giving the album 25 out of 100. [13] In 2016, the readers of Metal Hammer magazine voted Dark Light the second best metal album of the 21st century, second only to Babymetal 's self-titled debut. [52] In 2017, Valo revisited Dark Light and described it as a "pretty experimental record" for the band, stating: "Finnish melancholia was brought to the middle of the sunny city of angels, and we forcefully tried wed them. A good combination of the two. " [53] Loudwire later ranked Dark Light fourth in the band's discography, giving praise to the production and songwriting, while stating that "ultimately the 'dark' part of the title falls short of expectations. " [54] Kaaoszine ranked Dark Light as the second-best HIM album, stating: "Some albums are like a gateway to a dreamworld bigger than life. Dark Light is one of those records. Have to mention the billing on he film is strange. Obviously the top billing should be listed as Jessica Madsen who carries the film. The film needed better character development of the ex husband and police and the conspiracy theorist
The cinematography and production is very good. Good, scary atmosphere.
Because the idea is good, it should have been more epic. instead, a movie that should have been a big hit and needs sequels, might nit get that chance. It relies too much on more standard scares and action, when it could have been more in depth with it's premise.
Jessica Madsen was very believable.

I think I'm the only one who remembers this movie was ever planned xD. Once it was an American Eden. Fish swam in its waters, animals and Indians lived along its shores. It was longer then, wider too. Most of all it, was clean. But where water flows, industry follows, and by the late 1800s, Newtown Creek, the 3. 8 mile channel* dividing western Brooklyn from western Queens, was lined with chemical plants, glue and fertilizer factories, fat renderers, and refineries to process oil. In an unregulated age, companies were free to dispose of their byproducts, including lead, cadmium, and sulfuric acid, in the waters of the Creek, which was also an outlet for raw sewage. After World War II, manufacturing began to migrate south and overseas, leaving behind a complex and brutal legacy of contamination and ruin. In 1978, a Coast Guard patrol spotted oil streaming into the Creek near Meeker Avenue, the result of an underground spill larger than the 1989 Exxon Valdez catastrophe in Alaska. In 2010, the  Environmental Protection Agency  declared Newtown Creek a Super Fund site. But this isn’t a blog about “hot spots” at Phelps Dodge, or the night soil boat of the 1800s, or the oil spill under Greenpoint that’s still going on. It’s not about history, industry or ecology, maybe not even about photography. It’s about how things start and how they end, and how they carry on sometimes in strange, unexpected ways. And about a small body of water that puts a spell over people with cameras. Train Track Terminus ©Nathan Kensinger Maybe this is where I should come clean: I too have a  jones for the Creek. From June 5th, 2001, when my mother died, I took care of my father who had a heart attack and stroke that very day. I went from having a life, albeit a busy and struggling one, to the intricacies of elder care. It was the best thing I ever did, but also the hardest and most lonely. Wandering from time to time along the Creek or over it via the Pulaski Bridge with my camera, I found a measure of peace, and ample space in which to wander and think. For a short time, I was free. Some years later, after my father died, I signed up for a boat tour of Newtown, curious to learn about strange-sounding places like English Kills and Whale Creek, and witness scenery compared in hushed tones to Conrad’s Heart of Darkness. Yet as the boat turned in from the East River, I was disappointed. The light was flat and dull, the scenery anything but mysterious. Yet to go deeper into the Creek is to drift slowly and steadily into another world. The water, dark below with oil and filth, is streaked above with bright reflections of clouds and sky. As the land glides slowly and hypnotically by, the busy realm of the city falls further and further behind, giving way to a strange and lonely splendor of dirt roads, rocks and scrub. Every now and again, a strange, man-made confabulation rises up out of nowhere-an oddly turreted factory, a  crumbling warehouse, a water treatment plant with domes reminiscent of a Russian Orthodox cathedral. Then it passes and the land slips back into barren splendor till the next structure rises, then too is suddenly gone. Bridges drift overhead-the Pulaski, the Greenpoint Avenue, the Kosciuszko; time shifts downward to a slower gear, then settles comfortably into a warp. The water reflects the sky and shore till they flow together as one. Occasionally some small flurry of activity on the bank draws attention-a beer truck pulling out of a lot, a cement mixer turning its tail out over the water, a cluster of people huddled together in conversation-snippets of action, mysterious, incomplete. A spell has slipped down and pulled you into its thrall. Then the boat stopped. The sun got hotter; I grew impatient. What was going on? Didn’t they know that people who live in New York, the real New York, had things to do? For people of a certain borough, their twenty-four mile home is the center of the universe. There is Manhattan Island, and everywhere else, and everywhere else  doesn’t count. Manhattanites are opinionated, we are pushy, but most of all, we are fast. Nothing can ever slow down because we have so many things to do, all of them important and essential.  I began to fret. What was taking so long? Then two kayakers appeared off to the side of the boat and arranged themselves in parallel formation, and a few people gathered on the Brooklyn bank, looking out onto the water. A voice came over the loud speaker and began to talk about a man called Bernard Ente,  a photographer who had passed away at fifty-nine. It spoke about his wife and daughter, and his many friends, and my eyes shifted back to the people on the shore. I thought of my own father and stood down from my impatience. A wreath was brought forward and lowered gently over the side. It settled, for a moment hovering near.  More words were spoken, then the boat started up, and the flowers began their journey, drifting slowly away toward the line where sky and water meet, bringing to mind the words on a poet’s tombstone: “called back. € Bernard Ente  was a professional photographer and rail enthusiast, one of the founders of the Newtown Creek Alliance, an organization dedicated to rehabilitating the Creek and making it accessible for all New Yorkers. A few clicks of the mouse turned up all kinds of fond remembrances of him by all sorts of people, as well as many beautiful images he gave to waterfront organizations to further their cause. How many people have anyone, let alone a boatload of people, honor them and their work when they’re gone? This was a man who used his art to enhance the lives and environment not only of a few, but an entire city; one photographer who stood up and made a difference. In a world full of careless images, his mattered. _______________________________ Curtis Cravens earned  an MFA in photography from the University of New Mexico, then moved to New York in the 1980s to create art that focused on disused, unseen parts of the city, especially the waterfront. When a friend snuck him into the Laurel Hill Works, a former chemical plant and refinery near the Kosciuszko,   he became obsessed. He photographed the site extensively, cataloging pictures and records he came across. He researched corporate archives, and tracked down former managers and workers, including the widow of a man whose name he found in a hard hat. By Curtis Cravens, Furnace Press As the project grew, so did the questions Cravens asked himself. He wondered about the troubled history of industrial sites, and whether such places could ever be restored for use. “Art became a barrier, ” he said, “in the deeper engagement with reclamation…I felt compelled to do. ” Realizing that change required a different approach, Cravens began to learn about community and environmental redevelopment. He joined the management team of the  Greenpoint Manufacturing and Design Center, an old mill building at the mouth of the Creek, now home to a number of small artisanal businesses. He also wrote Copper on the Creek, a history of the Laurel Hill Works, and is currently an Economic Development Specialist for New York State. Ever creative, he thinks of himself as a “social entrepreneur” who builds partnerships between nonprofits and government agencies, and has come to enjoy the elements of collaboration not present in the solitary pursuit of art. An unusual and productive journey from a chance encounter on the Creek. Newtown Creek Winter ©Nathan Kensinger Though he grew up in San Francisco and lives in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn, no one has a greater feel for the bleak, post-industrial landscape than  Nathan Kensinger. A graduate of Hampshire College,  his work has appeared in numerous publications, including the New York Times, as well as many galleries and museums. He is currently Director of Programming for the Brooklyn Film Festival. Despite a background in journalism and documentary film, Kensinger  admits he has “never been interested in merely reporting the straight facts of a story, ” searching instead for a “more evocative portrait. ” The result is a unique blending of inner and outer terrain; a deeply saturated, intensely personal “poetic reality, ” one that always leaves space for the viewer’s own thoughts. His photographs are quietly stunning but rarely simple, with details arranged to draw the eye from foreground to background, inviting the viewer into the picture to more fully contemplate the scene. Even without people, they are Brueghel-like, with many planes and intricacies; the world as we know it, but rounded and seen through a wider, darker lens. There is mystery and richness to them; they make you think. Each of the Newtown photographers has a deep bond with the area: they are concerned with its fate and the fate of the city itself. It provokes them to action, and makes them reflect on the larger state of things. As Kensinger says: Dead End ©Nathan Kensinger “In many ways, New York is a…microcosm of all our country’s problems, conflicts, and social collisions.  I often find myself asking, while photographing, ‘What does it mean for this country if its greatest city houses so many neglected and forgotten areas, filled with massive amounts of pollution, intense poverty, abandoned buildings, gang warfare, and post-industrial decay? ’  During these dark economic times, I fear that we are nearing the end of the Empire State and of the American empire. ” Yet he and fellow artists, Laura  Chipley and Sarah Nelson Wright, have forged ahead with a project called the Newtown Creek Armada. Beginning September 8th, visitors to the  Newtown  Creek Nature Walk in  Greenpoint  will be able to guide small artist-created, radio-controlled boats along the Creek’s surface while a camera records each journey underneath. The footage, to be shown later at a gallery, will give visitors “a chance to virtually immerse themselves in the toxic waters, ” illustrating the pollution, but empowering them too, even if in a slightly whimsical way. The great wonder of Newtown Creek is that it can generate so many ideas and journeys, one flowing into the next like notes of a song. There are others, equally compelling, the question remaining as to how a small, dirty body of water manages to exact such a measure of devotion from its fans.  The Creek itself just rolls on, strange, alluring and anoxic, with all of its stories and pictures past, present, and still to come. - Catherine Kirkpatrick, Archives Director Professional Women Photographers wishes to thank Kate Zidar, President of the Newtown Creek Alliance, and its historian, Mitch Waxman (also writer of the Newtown Pentacle   blog), for their help with background information. Thanks also to the wonderful photographers who shared their stories, pictures and spirit. *The length of Newtown Creek is sometimes given as 3. 5 miles and sometimes 3. 8 miles. I used 3. 8 mile figure that appears on the Environmental Protection Agency’s website. Creek’s End ©Nathan Kensinger Post navigation ← PWP Walking Tour: Bushwick Resurgent! Dark Light. December 8, 2019 December 8, 2019 Dark Light, Ed Brody, Gerald Tyler, Horror Movie, Jessica Madsen, Kristina Clifford, Monster Movie, Movie Review, Opal Littleton, Padraig Reynolds, Vertical Entertainment A young mother returns to the family home after a series of misfortunes. In this case the breakup of her marriage, the death of her mother and a nervous breakdown. She simply wants a new start for her and her daughter but fate isn’t going to let that happen. It’s a common enough setup for a film and it’s what Padraig Reynolds (Rites Of Spring, Open 24 Hours) uses for his new film Dark Light. The recent past has taken a toll on Annie (Jessica Madsen, Leatherface, Rambo: Last Blood). Dealing with her mother’s illness and death along with the knowledge her husband was cheating on her caused a breakdown. Recovered and with custody of her daughter Emily (Opal Littleton), she’s moved into her mother’s now empty house. Or maybe it isn’t so empty. From the start, strange things happen and Annie is convinced she sees something in the house and the cornfields behind it. Something that wants her daughter. The local sheriff (Kristina Clifford, Butt Boy) is dubious. When Emily goes missing and Annie’s ex (Ed Brody) ends up on the wrong end of a shotgun blast she’s taken into custody. When the police van crashes she’s given a chance to escape and find her daughter at all costs. The first part of Dark Light is told in flashbacks as Annie is interrogated. This gets a bit confusing at times. Annie and the sheriff seem to transport from the interrogation room to other locations. After she escapes the film settles into a more normal structure. She consults Walter Simms (Gerald Tyler, The Lighthouse) an alleged expert on local strange events and at this point, the film shifts gears again. It goes from ghost story to monster movie with only a few lines of dialogue. Or possibly to the delusions of a homicidal madwoman as the authorities think. Unfortunately Dark Light has some gaping holes in its narrative. Just what are these underground creatures and why do they need human children? Why do doors open and close themselves, are the creatures telekinetic? Why is there a cache of weapons and large denomination bills under the floor of the house’s bedroom? There’s also way too much that we’ve seen before. The monster hiding in the back seat. All of the main players coincidentally ending up back at the house for the climactic showdown. The escape from the creature’s lair that evokes Aliens. And the sequel ready final shot. The creatures themselves are fairly nasty looking. All mouth and a huge glowing eye where their face should be. They resemble something that stalked out of an Italian Alien rip off. And they’re realized with practical effects too, actor Weston Meredith in a monster suit. That might make Dark Light worthwhile for monster buffs. For me though Dark Light just never really gets going. It looks good and it’s not boring, but it’s never overly exciting either. The elements are there, it all just lacks the spark to set it off. Dark Light is available to stream from Vertical Entertainment. DARK LIGHT Trailer (2019) Horror Movie Summary Reviewer Jim Morazzini Review Date 2019-12-08 Reviewed Item Dark Light Author Rating 3.

Shivers run through the spine Of hope as she cries The poison tears of a life denied In the raven black night Holding hands with Dark light Come shine in her lost heart tonight And blind all fears that haunt her With your smile, dark light In oblivion's garden Her body's on fire Writhing towards the angel defiled To learn how to die In peace with her God Dark light Come shine in her lost heart tonight And blind all fears that haunt her With your smile, dark light.
